Rosewood London
With their first invasion into London, Rosewood has made not only a wonderful new hotel but rather a radical new neighborhood: 'Midtown', beforehand known, with no of that inferred New York spunk, as plain old Holborn. However the area is unprecedented, beginning with the most unforeseen of yards, similar to a smaller than usual Somerset House, from which a sort of nation house vibe radiates - a nation house, be that as it may, with a huge feeling of mind and panache. The style of the insides is hard to describe, by turns coy and debauched, quieted and reflexive, conventional and contemporary. The general impact is astonishing. The interminably stuck Scarfe's Bar and the richly stretched Mirror Room are at either end of a dazzlingly lit bronze hall that protects the entryway from the outside world. The Holborn Lounge area, keep running by ex-Ivy head culinary specialist Des McDonald, includes an exuberant brasserie buzz. Sitting outside in the patio porch in summer with a glass of something chilled is a delight.
