Boundary
Terence Conran's first hotel - whoops, 'multi-utilitarian space' - involves twelve substantial, extravagantly pared-down rooms in a changed over distribution center in Shoreditch, showcasing the work of Conran's most loved creators (Mies, Corbu, et al) against exhibition style white dividers and uncovered block. The great looks proceed in Albion, a so called "caff" with shop and bread kitchen joined, and the swishy eatery, where City swells and media sorts snack on frogs' legs and do their best to drain the very much loaded wine basement. Upstairs, there's something of a Manhattan perspective at the housetop bar, a desert garden of good taste over the low down huge awful city, but a desert garden with a 24-hour soundtrack of sirens and party. In case you're a light sleeper, pack earplugs.
