What is The Definition Of Agricultural Technology?



Agricultural Technology is the application of techniques to control the growth and harvesting of animal and vegetable products. 

Agricultural Technology focuses on technological processes used in agriculture,to create an understanding of how processes, equipment and structures are used with people, soil, plants, animals and their products,to sustain and maintain quality of life and to promote economic, aesthetic and sound cultural values. 

The following generic concepts are embedded in Agricultural Technology 
-identify and solve problems using the technological process. 
-safety rules and regulations applicable within agricultural environment. 
-use safety measures in the transport of animals and livestock. 
-basic operational knowledge and correct use of agricultural tools. equipment and machinery.

-effective use of computer technology. 
-construction, erecting and maintenance (buildings and structures). 
-maintenance and repair (implements etc). 
-energy principles and its application. 
-planning, construction and maintenance of animal handling facilities. 
-prevention of soil erosion.
